1875 Penn Ave NW is located just three blocks from the White House on this prominent blvd. This ambitious project called for the union of two existing buildings. This union created a large atrium space designed to be clad in all Italian Calacatta marble. Rugo was contracted to furnish and install all the marble in this grand modern open space, which features large amounts of blended and variegated Calacatta marble paving and marble walls.
Perhaps the most prominent element is the significant two-story water feature designed to use natural cleft finished slate at the surface for the water travel path from the 2nd floor to the lobby floor. The project is highly regarded in the design community and has received numerous awards for design and craftsmanship. The project won the 2007 WBC Interior Stone Craftsmanship award for Rugo’s skilled installation.
