This small, yet very detailed Chapel is dedicated to the Vietnamese community. The large Venetian glass mosaic panel features 118 Vietnamese martyrs killed in the late 1800s for their faith in Christ.
The mosaic is unique in that it features 118 faces, which are only 1″ to 1 1/2″ tall, and are referred to as micro-mosaics. Very few mosaicists can work the glass medium in such small sizes with extraordinary detail as these do. The wall and floor feature Botticino Classico marble, with inlaid Rojo Alicante accent strips. The altar is constructed from Italian Statuary marble with inlays of semi-precious Lapis. Rugo performed all the marble and mosaic installation, including the barrel vault ceiling, which is also constructed of Venetian glass.
The Chapel has been a tremendous success, with over 6,000 Vietnamese faithful attending the dedication ceremony, and it is a proud part of the Rugo portfolio.
